Third Edition (2013)

  • The expo was held under the theme “Mechanisms to support SMEs”
  • The exhibition saw great participation from private sector competent bodies.
  • The opening ceremony was also attended by a galaxy ministers, ambassadors and officials from various ministries.
  • The three-day exhibition has been organized by Qatar Chamber in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Industry.
  • Several lectures and seminars were delivered on the sidelines of the expo.
  • A seminar on the mechanisms of supporting small and medium industries (SMIs) was held.
  • A seminar on roles of QDB and Qatar Incubator center was delivered.
  • The leading industrial firms participating in the exhibition are Qatar Gas, Qatar Chemical Company, Qatalum, Qatar Development Bank, Doha Cables, Qatar Chemicals, Qatar Foam, Qatar Petrochemical Company, Qatar Steel, National Paper Industries Company, Salam International, and Qbake.

Fourth Edition (2015)

  • Inaugurated by the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al Thani.
  • Date: 19th – 23rd May 2015.

  • Edition: Fourth
  • Number of Exhibitors: 225 national companies and factories
  • Sectors: furniture, food products, petrochemicals, SMEs and miscellaneous industries
  • Number of visitors: 7000
  • It included, for the first time, a bazaar where visitors could buy jewelry, perfumes and oils, assorted clothing, souvenir items, handicrafts, and several homemade products
  • More than 200 family productive families displayed their products in the bazaar
  • A symposium entitled “Industry is locomotive of development” held on the sidelines of the expo in the attendance of HE Minister of Energy and Industry Dr. Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada and HE Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage Dr. Hamad bin Abdul-Aziz Al Kuwari
  • Four arbitration symposiums were held by the Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration in cooperation with Qatar University and Qatari Lawyers Association
  • Due to the great turnout, the exhibition was extended for one extra day
  • Ministers, businessmen, GCC and Arab officials visited the expo
  • Her Excellency Sheikha Al Mayassa bint Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani Chairperson of Qatar Museums, toured pavilions at the exhibition and was briefed about participating Qatari companies and their products.

Fifth Edition (2016) in KSA

  • The fifth edition of the expo and the first to be held outside Qatar was held from 6-9 November 2016 at Riyadh International Convention & Exhibition Center, KSA.
  • Organized by Qatar Chamber of Commerce and Industry in cooperation with the Council of Saudi Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the expo was opened by the Minister of Energy and Industry H E Dr Mohammed bin Saleh Al Sada and HE Saudi Minister of Commerce and Investment Dr Majed bin Abdullah Al-Qasabi.
  • HE Chairman of Qatar Chamber Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al-Thani, and a group of Qatari and Saudi businessmen attended the inauguration ceremony.
  • Held on an area of 10000 sqm, the expo saw participation of more than 200 Qatari companies and factories representing all manufacturing and producing sectors.
  • Many productive families and home-based businesses also displayed their products in the expo.
  • On the sidelines of the expo, the Qatari-Saudi Business Forum was held.
  • 40% of exhibiting companies concluded successful transactions with Saudi companies.

Sixth Edition (2017)

  • Held Under the patronage and with inauguration of the Emir HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the expo was held from 14-17 December on an area of 30000 sqm, which is the entire exhibition’s space at the Doha Convention and Exhibition Centre.
  • The expo is organized by Qatar Chamber in cooperation with the Ministry of Energy and Industry, QDB as strategic partner and QNB as official sponsor.
  • The Emir was accompanied by the Prime Minister and Interior Minister H E Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani and several Ministers, senior diplomats and dignitaries, members of Qatar Chamber’s Board of Directors and scores of prominent businessmen.
  • Number of exhibitors: 320 Qatari industrial companies, 140 productive families
  • Number of sponsors: 18 sponsors: (QDB strategic partner – QNB official – Qatar Tourism Authority and QMIC diamond – Mantaflex and Qatar Foam golden – ASTAD, Salam, Qatalum, Hasad and QPMC silver – Widam sponsor of food sector – Manteq sponsor of economic zones – ASKAR sponsor of miscellaneous industries sector – Alurays sponsor of SMEs – Qatar TV, Al Arab Newspaper media sponsors).
  • Number of visitors: more than 18000
  • Qatar Chamber invited embassies of friendly and fraternal countries in coordination with the Foreign Ministry to participate in the exhibition.
  • The exhibition also provided free display spaces for trade representatives from 25 embassies in Doha to enable the Qatari manufacturers and businessmen to learn about these markets and provide them with an opportunity to exchange experiences, information and techniques that can benefit businesses in the country.
  • Sectors: Petrochemicals, food, furniture, SMEs and miscellaneous industries.
  • On the sidelines of the exhibition, Qatar Chamber held an accompanying industrial forum which addressed the challenges facing the industrial sector in the country and highlighted the legal environment of investment.

The two-session forum was attended by HE the Minister of Energy and Industry Dr Mohamed bin Saleh al-Sada, chairman of Qatar Chamber HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani and many businessmen, chairpersons and representatives of companies taking part in the expo.

It also shed light on legislations and laws facilitating business in the country.

Speakers included representatives from the Ministry of Energy & Industry, QDB, Single Window, Manateq, Qatar University and Qatar International Center for Conciliation and Arbitration.

  • HE Mohammad bin Abdullah Al-Rumaihi, Minister of Municipality and Environment, visited the expo and toured its pavilions, accompanied by QC’s chairman and director general.
  • Syrian and Kazakhstani business delegations visited the exhibition and met with the Chamber’s officials
  • The agreements signed during the exhibition included a cooperation between Kazakhstan and Qatar and an agreement between QDB and Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) to encourage small and medium enterprises to be listed on the Qatari bourse.
  • The expo also saw signing commercial contracts, agreements and commercial transactions among the exhibiting companies, local companies and foreign companies.
  • Agreements included a partnership between Al Bandari Group and Prista Oil of Bulgaria, in addition to the announcement of the Al Mahtaba Factory for the establishment of the first textile factory in Qatar next year.
  • Also, Al Dhaayen Group announced the establishment of the first factory for manufacturing air conditioners in Qatar early 2019.
  • Many companies reached preliminary understandings of partnership and alliance with foreign companies and will be holding further their discussions after the exhibition.
  • QC Chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim Al Thani received at the exhibition’s Hal Qatar Majlis scores of prominent businessmen, owners of companies and factories as well as foreign business delegations.
  • QC director general received at the chamber’s pavilion deputy chairman of the Custom General Authority Ahmed bin Issa al-Mohanadi.
  • On the sidelines of the exhibition, various workshops and seminars on supply chains, productivity, negotiation and decision making were given.

Seventh Edition (2018) in Oman

  • The seventh edition of the expo and the second to be held outside Qatar was held in the Sultanate of Oman from 3-6 December 2018 on an area od 10000 sqm and with participation of 240 Qatari companies and factories.
  • The expo was organised in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Development Bank as strategic partner and Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
  • Held under the patronage of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa al-Thani, the exhibition was inaugurated by HE the Minister of Commerce and Industry Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari and the President of General Authority for Investment Promotion and Export Development in Oman Yahia bin Saeed Al Jabri.
  • Launched at the Oman Convention and Exhibition Center in Muscat, the opening of the exhibition was attended by HE Qatar Ambassador to Oman Ali bin Fahad Falah Al Hajri, First Vice-Chairman of Qatar Chamber Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Twar Al Kuwari, Chairman of Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry Qais bin Mohammed Al Yousuf and many Qatari and Omanis businessmen.
  • On the sidelines of the expo, the Qatari-Omani Business Forum was held and several presentations from Qatar Development Bank, Manateq, Co-ordinating Committee for the Single Window System Management, Al Duqm Port, Oman Development Bank, and Public Establishment for Industrial Estates–Madayn were delivered during a session titled ‘Industry…Strategic Choice’.

Eighth edition (2020) in Kuwait

  • This is the third edition to be held outside Qatar and the eighth edition of the expo since its inception in 2009.
  • This edition was held under the patronage of Kuwait Prime Minister Sheikh Sabah Khalid al Hamad al Sabah and is being organised by the Qatar Chamber in cooperation with the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar Development Bank and the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry between 19-22 February 2020 at the Kuwait International Fair.
  • The event was on an area of 10,000 sqm. with the participation of more than 220 Qatari manufacturing companies.
  • The expo included five industrial sectors: energy, petrochemicals, food industries, SMEs, furniture, and miscellaneous industries.
  • The Minister of Commerce and Industry HE Ali bin Ahmed al Kuwari and his Kuwaiti counterpart, Khaled Nasser Abdullah al Roudan, inaugurated the exhibition.
  • The opening ceremony was attended by Qatar Chamber chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al Thani, Chairman of Kuwait Chamber Ali Mohammed Thunayan al Ghanim, Qatar’s Ambassador to Kuwait HE Bandar bin Mohamed al Attiyah and a host of Qatari and Kuwaiti businessmen.
  • Choosing Kuwait as a venue for the third outside edition of the expo was due to the fraternal relations between both countries in all fields and the fast-growing commercial relations between their private sectors.
  • The Qatar-Kuwait trade relations have witnessed remarkable development within the past few years. The two states’ close trade relations are positively reflected in the volume of their bilateral trade, which grew by 72% from QR 2.4bn in 2017 to QR 4.3bn in 2018, while it reached QR 3.1 bn in the third quarter of 2019, recording an 11% growth compared to QR 2.8 bn in the same period of 2018.
  • The expo aimed at promoting Qatari products abroad after they were promoted locally and proved to be a great success in the domestic market.
  • The expo also aimed to provide an opportunity for manufacturers and exhibitors to meet with their Kuwaiti counterparts and discuss establishing partnerships and alliances that contribute to boosting the Qatari industry and exploring what the Qatari market needs from new industries, especially those that depend on modern technology.
  • It affirmed the Chamber’s keenness on strengthening communication between Qatari manufacturers and businessmen and their counterparts from Kuwait with the aim of achieving an industrial and commercial partnership between both sides that serves the national economy of both brotherly countries and promotes their trade exchange.
  • It also aimed at opening new external markets for Qatari companies and propelling and developing industry, especially SMEs as well as highlighting the State’s support for industry which represents the backbone of sustainable development.
  • The expo saw a large turnout from Kuwaiti businessmen and representatives of Kuwaiti companies of all sectors who were interested in visiting the expo to meet their Qatari counterparts to learn about exhibiting industries.
  • On the sidelines of the expo, a multitude of agreements and partnership contracts were signed between the two sides.

Qatar-Kuwait Business Forum:

  • On the sidelines of the exhibition, the ‘Qatar-Kuwait Business Forum’ was held at the headquarters of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
  • Qatar Chamber Chairman HE Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim al-Thani, Kuwait Chamber Vice Chairman Abdel Wahab Al-Wazzan and QDB’s CEO Abdul Aziz Al Khalifa attended the forum.
  • The forum’s sessions reviewed the investment and business climate in the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait, ways of enhancing joint investments and exchanging industrial and commercial experiences between the two brotherly countries.
  • The first session dealt with the investment climate in the State of Qatar and opportunities and areas of investment, in addition to the investment climate in the State of Kuwait.
  • The second session focused on ways to enhance cooperation between Qatar and Kuwait in the industrial sector and its challenges. Participants spoke about industrial finance and the presentation of Kuwait’s renewable energy projects.
